Smith describes her development as a collector, and the influences of Rene d'Harnoncourt and Alfred H. Barr, Jr. She recalls the early days (1950s) of the International Council, and discusses important gifts she has made to the Museum, such as Picasso's Glass of Absinth and Pregnant Woman, and Kandinsky's Picture with an Archer. Smith shares her thoughts about having a gallery in the Museum named for her.
